Product Information
Expanded PTFE Tape
Expanded PTFE tape is a porous sealing strip made from pure PTFE by a special process, offering flexibility, chemical resistance, compressibility and recovery.
Key Features
Typical temperature range in the source: -250°C to +280°C; some grades have a momentary limit of 316°C.
Chemical resistance: Strong acids, alkalis and organic solvents across pH 0–14, excluding elemental fluorine and molten alkali metals.
High tensile strength, creep resistance and recovery support dynamic sealing applications.
Adhesive backing enables on-site cutting and fitting to irregular sealing surfaces.
Technical Data
Density: 0.6–0.9 g/cm³.
Pressure resistance: 14 MPa for gases and 20 MPa for liquids.
Seating load: The source states effective sealing at 50 kgf/cm².
Width: 3–100 mm. Thickness: 1.5–8 mm. Length can be customized.
Applications
Flange seals in chemical, pharmaceutical, food and power industries, especially reactors, pipelines and irregular vessels.
The microcellular structure reduces cold flow and improves sealing reliability.
