Product Information
EPDM Rubber Gasket
Ethylene propylene diene monomer (EPDM) rubber gaskets are used in industrial, construction and automotive sealing.
Key Features
Typical temperature range in the source: -50°C to 180°C, with some products listed up to 200°C.
Resistance to acids, alkalis, salts, halides and organic solvents is described in the source.
Shore hardness: 50–80, combining flexibility with sealing performance.
A saturated hydrocarbon backbone provides ozone and weathering resistance and reduces cracking during prolonged use.
Applications
Heat exchangers, pipelines and valves.
Tunnel-lining waterproof seals, including porous EPDM rubber pads.
Automotive door and window seals and vibration-damping pads.
Selection and Installation
Select the grade for operating pressure, such as 1.0 MPa, and the medium.
Apply uniform compression to avoid localized overloading and seal failure.
The source describes higher strength, better wear resistance and lower cost than silicone, with somewhat lower temperature resistance; silicone is cited at 200°C.
Compared with chloroprene rubber, EPDM offers better aging resistance for prolonged exposure.
Consult the supplier for specific specifications, such as the DN350–10 MPa example in the source, or customization.
