Product Information
Ramie Fiber Packing
Ramie fiber packing is square-braided from ramie fibers coated internally and externally with graphite and impregnated with special lubricating oil.
Basic Properties
Material: High-quality ramie fiber with graphite coating and lubricant impregnation.
Colors: Black and white; black is common.
Temperature: Normally no more than 140°C; some grades are listed up to 300°C.
Chemical range: pH 2–12, with some grades extending to pH 2–14.
Maximum surface speed: 10–12 m/s.
Benefits
Low friction reduces shaft wear.
Resistance to seawater, grease, weak acids and weak alkalis.
Wear resistance for sandy or abrasive media.
Flexibility and resilience simplify installation and maintenance.
Applications
Marine, cold-water treatment, chemical processing, power and food industries.
Low-pressure valves, rotating equipment, reciprocating pumps, hydraulic supports and propellers.
Water, seawater, oils, weak acids, weak alkalis and emulsions.
Technical Data
| Parameter | Listed Value | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Pressure | 3–20 MPa | Valves up to 20 MPa |
| Temperature | -50°C to +300°C | Conventional grades ≤140°C |
| Chemical range | pH 2–14 | Expanded-range grades |

Braiding
Plaited construction: Looser structure for small-section dynamic seals.
Layered construction: Denser structure for static or low-speed seals.
Replacement Benefits
The source reports longer life than conventional rubber rings, from several months to more than six months, reducing replacement frequency and environmental impact.
