PTFE Packing

Low friction · Clean sealing

Product Information

PTFE Packing

PTFE packing is braided from PTFE fibers for dynamic sealing of pumps, valves and mixers in chemical, food, pharmaceutical and paper industries.

Key Features

Chemical resistance: The source lists resistance to most media, including strong acids, alkalis and organic solvents, except molten alkali metals and free fluoride ions.

Typical temperature range: -50°C to +260°C; some grades have a momentary limit of 316°C.

Low friction, approximately 0.04, reduces equipment wear and extends seal life.

Additive-free and lubricant-free grades support clean food and pharmaceutical service.

Types

Aramid-reinforced black PTFE packing: For high-pressure, high-speed dynamic sealing.

White PTFE packing: Braided virgin PTFE for contamination-sensitive service.

Oil-free white PTFE packing: Without oil or additives, for food, pharmaceuticals, fine chemicals and paper processing.

Lubricated white PTFE packing: Silicone-oil impregnation improves lubrication and sealing for corrosive, low-wear service.

Lubricated or oil-free black PTFE packing: Graphite particles improve thermal conductivity for high-temperature and high-pressure service.

Split-filament PTFE packing: Impregnation improves compression resistance for general-purpose use.

Applications

Chemical pumps and valves handling acids, alkalis and other corrosive fluids.

Hygienic seals in mixers and centrifugal pumps for food and pharmaceuticals.

Power and paper processing: Steam and abrasive-media sealing.
